Ran out of heating oil?
When a tank runs dry, air gets into the fuel line and the burner usually won't relight on its own. Getting it running again takes a Prime & Start: a driver or technician bleeds the line, primes the system and restarts it. Add the Prime & Start when you place your order, and plan to be home so we can get to your boiler or furnace.
Emergency same-day delivery is available in some areas, so call as soon as you know you're out. To avoid running out, order when your gauge reads about a quarter tank, or sign up for automatic delivery every 30 to 60 days.
Call 302-798-0271Help paying for heating oil in Delaware (DEAP)
Delaware’s version of LIHEAP is the Delaware Energy Assistance Program (DEAP), run through Catholic Charities. It helps eligible homeowners and renters with heating costs, and heating oil qualifies. Approved grants are paid straight to your fuel supplier and don’t have to be repaid. Funding is limited each season, so apply early.
To use a DEAP grant with us:
- Apply through Delaware's ASSIST portal, or call Catholic Charities in New Castle County at 302-654-9295.
- Name American Energy Supply as your heating oil supplier on the application.
- Once your grant is approved, Catholic Charities sends it to us and we schedule your delivery.
Your account number is printed on any past delivery ticket. If you can't find one, call us and we'll look it up.
Fuel for Delaware businesses, too
We also fuel job sites, fleets and generators across Delaware:
